The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) supports energy-efficiency improvements for qualifying households. Eligibility and suitable measures are assessed under the current scheme rules; receiving a benefit alone does not guarantee an installation.
Homeowners and tenants may be able to receive support. Tenants will need the relevant landlord permission. Your energy supplier or local authority can explain the routes currently available.

Before you agree to improvements
Confirm costs and the provider
Suppliers decide which measures they fund and the level of support. You may be asked to contribute towards installation costs.
Before agreeing, ask for written details of the proposed work, funding, your contribution, warranties and the installer. Check the provider’s relevant registrations and credentials.
